Our Gyratec X carries the might of a true tube stereo compressor. Widely recognized for its speed, this Vari-Mu beast from Gyraf Audio is now coming to life in the native FX domain. Thanks to its smooth high-pass filtering, it allows for hard compression of the low end without dirtying the sound. This tube design-inspired stereo unit can be easily combined with other types of compressors and all of the Antelope Audio vintage audio tools.

The more you push the Gyratec X the more its all-tube vintage color will shine, especially in the low-end. With clean and organic mid-range and open high-end, this fast compressor is perfect for taming transients or any sudden peaks in your signal nicely not only without losing any of the original sound's impact and punch but by beautifully warming the whole specter up.

History

The early 2000s hardware original behind Gyratec X features technology used in early limiters such as the legendary Fairchild 670, making it excel among similar Vari-Mu compressors. Despite its oldschool vibe, this unit is surprisingly versatile. It can handle various genres and applications – from loud and vintage rock and roll to high-octane pop, and everything that lies in between.
